Well-written. Ms. Haven is quite skilled at creating a mood and detailing dark and/or mysterious scenes. Good attention to visual detail. The only issues I noticed could be solved with one more round of proofreading (some minor typos) and a reformatting (paragraphs and indents are needed). The descriptive skills are wonderful.

Great read! Morbidly beautiful... keeps the readers intrest with creative fantasy intertwined with a romantic flair and unexpected ending. Would highly recommend it! ;)
Great for a quick read. I interesting story keeps your eyes glued to the page all the way thru to the end. Dark, and beautifully written. Would definitely recommend this book...looking forward to more from this talented young author!
This is by far one of the best fictional stories I'be read in a LONG time. The imagery is incredibly captivating, the characters and their development are both essential to the progression of the novel, and at times I truly felt as though I were watching a film. And a great one at that! Rin Haven does an excellent job incorporating personal touches to each character, and adds details that would astound even the most proficient authors.

It's a pretty short read. It only took me about an hour and a half to finish. For this reason as well as the reasons listed above, I would recommend this book to anyone from the age of 8-100. Please do yourself a favor and read this ASAP!
I loved this young writer's story. It was dark, yet full of hope. It was fantasy, yet full of real-life situations. There was love, loss and the yearning of a connection and a bonding with others, whether human or otherwise. It's a beautiful story that had me thinking long after I finished. It's a very insightful look on life from a person so young. (And the editing was superb.) I believe this author will go far. Don't give up on writing, author Rin Haven, readers need you in the world!
This is one of the best novellas I have read so far. I haven't been engrossed in a story such as I was with this one in a very long time. I finished it just a few hours after I bought it, and I look forward to picking it right up again. In regards to the descriptions and subject matter, it was similar to the works of Poe and Rossetti, perhaps with a hint of the longing and loneliness evident in Emily Dickenson's poetry. However, it is perhaps most similar to Neil Gaiman's Coraline overall. The storyline is compelling and flows exceptionally well from start to finish. There were a few errors in the formatting of the piece, as well as a few grammatical errors, but, for me, they didn't greatly impact the overall story, as I was too caught up in the other elements of this great tale.
This was a fantastic read. The main character came alive and I found myself cheering her on. Surprising, but fitting, ending. I can't wait for this authors next book.
